In July 2026, experts from the Ukrainian Scientific Centre of Ecology of the Sea participated in the online ALGAWA Project & Research Coordination Meeting, focused on aligning partner actions for the project’s second reporting period.

Participants focused on preparing and submitting the second progress report, coordinating technical deliverables, structuring shared document folders, as well as handling communication and financial reporting matters.

Key priorities established during the discussion include:
• Finalizing materials for Activity 1.1;
• Preparing preliminary results for Activity 1.2;
• Standardizing file naming conventions, document structures, and metadata;
• Approving information and promotional materials in line with program guidelines;
• Planning next budget steps and financial recovery for the second reporting period.

Special emphasis was placed on completing Activity 1.1, which encompasses a literature review, macrophyte/macroalgae mapping, a DPSIR framework analysis, and pilot site selection. For Activity 1.2, partners agreed to incorporate preliminary experimental results, initial floating biofilter designs, and photos from the Living Labs.

UkrSCES’s active engagement in this coordination meeting ensures the sound preparation of reporting deliverables, strengthens partner collaboration, and advances the development of Nature-based Solutions for the Black Sea region.
